Photo Essay: Background

Joe O’Brien is a 35 year old from Lorain, Ohio.He came to Los Angeles on a two-week trip to “check it out” and pursue his dream of becoming an actor. His two-week stay turned into nine months.

He began his stay in LA by sleeping in inexpensive hotels, which turned to couch tours with people he met at his job as a background actor, which ultimately led him to being homeless and sleeping in his rental car.
